Your Weekly Beer Bulletin: November 3rd, 2023

Updated: Nov 18, 2023

Hey Friends! Sorry this is coming out a day late! Got some fun new stuff this week, and the Holiday beer onslaught has officially begun. Take a look:

Juicy Oppaque CAM - Cashmere Motueka

Double NEIPA | 8.0% ABV

Welcome in Juicy Brewing Company out of Herndon, VA! Lots of good buzz about these fine folks!

Aromas of Pineapple, Strawberry, and Key Lime introduces this DDH DIPA to the senses. On first sip Pineapple and bright citrus shine on the palate, smooth and creamy mouthfeel provided copious amounts of oats. Finishing smooth and clean with a touch of citrus and the scent of strawberry fields.

Juicy Luminous CE - Citra Ekuanot

IPA | 7.2% ABV | 40 IBU

A refreshing new take on a timeless classic, featuring only the highest quality German malts and meticulous layers of Hop Character added from 5 separate hops used to brew this beer. Mango, Citrus, and Peach dominate the aromatics. Upon first sip grapefruit, melon, subtle pine, and a light malty toast dance on the palette in harmony. Finishing surprisingly smooth with clean hop character.

Juicy x Narrow Gauge Chiwaka Pilsner

Pilsner | 5.0% ABV | 5 IBU

All Riwaka Pilsner that has been dry hopped very lightly. It's drinkable but very chewy with Riwaka. Amazingly New Zealand forward - with all of the Riwaka they threw at this beer.

This is Juicy's collaboration with Jeff and his good people of Narrow Gauge Brewing Co (St Louis MO).

Juicy Kuzy 777

Vienna Lager | 5.0% ABV

Evgeny Kuznetzov joined brewers at Juicy Brewing in Herndon to brew a limited release beer.

The Kuzy 777 is a tribute to Evgeny’s inevitable next milestone of 777 points. It has more color and flavor than a lager, but is exceptionally drinkable. Amber in appearance with a fuller body from all natural grain brewing and the long lagering required for a beer of this class.

The beer has been slightly dry hopped for better natural perfume and pleasant bitterness. The strata hops give it strawberry and citrus aromas.

Drekker Super Freak

Double NEIPA | 8.2% ABV

This is the double dry hopped version of Freak Parade and it's right up there for the most hops Drekker has ever put in a beer with just an absurd amount of Vic Secret, Mosaic, and El Dorado.

Drekker Tickle Monster

Double NEIPA | 8.2% ABV

Tickle Monster is a Double IPA brewed with Lactose Sugar and Belma & Mosaic hops. No monsters were harmed (or tickled) in the making of this beer.

Drekker The Friendly PRRT

Smoothie Sour | 6.5% ABV

The Friendly PRRRT is a scary delicious Ghost Slushy Sour with Lemon, Lime, a little Pear, Cream of Coconut, and Coconut Slushy Mix!

Proclamation Sitka

West Coast IPA | 7.0% ABV

Aromas of spruce and pine sap meld with peppermint, grapefruit, and citrus pith. Bright and lively on the palate with flavors of grapefruit, candied orange peel, and spruce. Finishes perfectly with that resinous bitterness.

Proclamation Winter is Warmer

Winter Warmer | 7.8% ABV

A Winter Warmer Ale with Cherry, Maple Syrup, Cinnamon & Vanilla.

Deep amber in color with light tan foam. Aromas of cherry fruit leather, mulling spices, and vanilla. Flavors of tart cherry give way to a cinnamon warmth that is smoothed out by a present and lingering vanilla. Strong Cherry Cola vibes.

Adroit Theory Elegy [despair edition]

Double NEIPA | 8.0% ABV | 39 IBU

The 4th in Adroit's 5-part series that pays homage to The Crow comic book + movie franchise. This release picks up exactly where the last one left off. It's opaque orange, oat-laden, silky textured body transports wildly juicy notes of Mangoes, Pineapples, and Oranges to your palate. Minimal finishing bitterness provides a crisp finish without spoiling your next sip.

Double Dry-Hopped | El Dorado | Mosaic

Adroit Theory No Escape From The Darkness

Double NEIPA | 8.2% ABV | 42 IBU

It's been over 2.5 years since Adroit brewed this beer, so they figured it was time to bring it back. No Escape from the Darkness continues the tradition set forth in the early iterations as being extra juicy. A creamy, oat-laden body exudes creaminess. The aroma is one of candied lychee + guava. Tropical flavors abound with just a hit of hop derived bitterness on the back-end.

Tucked Away Reenlistment

New England IPA | 6.5% ABV

Delicious, super citrusy hazy IPA hopped with Calypso!

Väsen Okolnir

New England IPA | 6.5% ABV | 26 IBU

Grab a pour of this juicy, tropical IPA and imagine yourself in Okolnir, a place of everlasting warmth where the souls of Norse warriors enjoy beers with the primeval giant Ymir. Motueka, Citra, and Azacca hops contribute aromas of ripe mango, pineapple and grapefruit, while Norwegian farmhouse kveik yeast add flavors of peach and tangerine.

Stone Xocoveza

Imperial Stout | 8.1% ABV

Xocoveza has returned!

This is a beloved stout. When first introduced as a limited special collaboration release with Cerveceria Insurgente and San Diego homebrewer Chris Banker (after his recipe won Stone's annual homebrew competition) , it was an instant hit and fans began clamoring for its return. Seeing as how its amazing flavor profile is evocative of Mexican hot chocolate, featuring coffee, pasilla peppers, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and a generous amount of chocolate, Stone concluded it was the perfect stout to re-release in celebration of the Holidays and the entire winter season. This is now a highly anticipated yearly tradition that they are pleased to present, and makes a perfect wintry gift from you to your friends, loved ones, or simply to yourself. Cheers!

Graft Native

Cider | 6.9% ABV

Native is a Spontaneous Natural Cider that has minimal intervention, uses 100% wild yeast & bacteria, and is Oak Fermented and Aged - Sur Lie. Graft sources apples from the Hudson Valley and press it all in-house. Each can is carefully can conditioned, which they think, helps to make a more expressive and complex cider. It's tart, earthy, and dry with a bit of funk and oak, reminiscent of a Sidra.

Hardywood Gingerbread Stout

Imperial Stout | 9.2% ABV | 55 IBU

Brewed with baby ginger from Casselmonte Farm and wildflower honey from Bearer Farms, Hardywood Gingerbread Stout captures the terroir of central Virginia in a rich, creamy libation with a velvety mouthfeel and an intriguing evolution of flavors from milk chocolate and vanilla to honeycomb and cinnamon to a snap of ginger in the finish.

Deep, dark chocolate in color with a mahogany tint and a frothy, caramel colored head, Hardywood Gingerbread Stout offers aromatics of holiday spice originating from the ginger, and balanced with a generous dose of whole Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans and Vietnamese cinnamon. Milk sugar (lactose) contributes to the full body of this stout and tames its roasty character, while oats lend a silky quality. Enjoy fresh, or cellar for a special occasion.

Hardywood Gingerbread Porter

Imperial Porter | 9.2% ABV | 55 IBU

Imperial Porter with Local White Ginger and Local Wildflower Honey. This brew is lactose free!

Hardywood Christmas Morning

Imperial Stout | 9.2% ABV | 55 IBU

A blend of Brazilian and Sumatran coffee beans from Richmond’s Blackhand Coffee Co take this variation of Gingerbread Stout to a whole new level of decadence. Christmas Morning offers layers of gingerbread flavor complimented by the smooth nuances of freshly brewed coffee!

Hardywood Fluffy GBS

Imperial Stout | 9.2% ABV | 55 IBU

GBS with Toasted Marshmallows!

Variety 8 Packs, GBS 4 Packs, and Limited Singles Available!

Tröegs The Mad Elf Grand Cru

Belgian Strong Dark Ale | 11.0% ABV | 15 IBU

If you know Tröegs, you know The Mad Elf, the mischievous belle of the holiday beer ball that helped put our little brewery on the map. In your hands is the Director’s Cut. Tart Balaton cherries – loads of them – make all the difference. Bottle-conditioned and flush with notes of cinnamon and clove, this beer begs to be shared. Take a bottle home, gather your friends, and cherish the cherries.

Tröegs The Mad Elf

Belgian Strong Dark Ale | 11.0% ABV | 15 IBU

The Mad Elf is here with its nuanced blend of sweet and tart cherries, Pennsylvania honey, chocolate malt and a hint of mischief. The essence of this legendary holiday ale, along with its ruby red glow, is born from five varieties of tree-ripened cherries. Local wildflower honey sweetens the celebration, and a spicy Belgian yeast adds subtle notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice. It’s not the holidays until you’ve had your first Mad Elf!

Two Roads Holiday Ale

Biére de Noel | 7.3% ABV

Two Roads Holiday Ale is inspired by the little known Biere de Noel style, a subset of Biere de Garde, both of which originated on small farmhouse breweries in the north of France. Biere de Noel, which translates as “Christmas Beer”, tends to exhibit a more malty profile than a typical Biere de Garde.

In its native France this special type of ale is brewed by just a handful of small breweries and is only available for the few weeks leading up to Christmas.

Port City Tidings

Belgian Style Blonde Ale | 8.5% ABV | 25 IBU

Tidings is a strong, spicy Belgian-style blonde ale brewed with local wildflower honey and 100% Virginia grown wheat. These local ingredients store away the essence of summer to warm you during the cold winter months. This festive ale is gently spiced with coriander, cardamom, fresh ginger, and Grains of Paradise, Tidings balances complexity with drinkability.
