Weekly Beer Bulletin

Hey folks! I'm back from a quick jaunt up in Boston and have a nice little list for you this week. Still have lots from last week's big drop as well so take a look at that too if you haven't already! Now, the good stuff:

Night Shift Fluffy

New England IPA | 7.0% ABV

This beer was a highlight of my recent trip, so I had to bring it in! Sips like a fresh squeeze of hoppy orange juice. Bursts with notes of clementine, fresh apricot, and ripe mangos. Hops are Citra, Simcoe, Idaho 7 - all cryo, 95% added post-boil.

Night Shift 87

Double NEIPA | 8.0% ABV

Lovingly branded and named after Night Shift's Everett home, 87 is their flagship hazy DIPA.

It’s big, bold, and wonderfully tropical. It pours hazy and glowing orange. A simple, clean malt bill allows its tropical bouquet of hops (Ella, Citra, Ekuanot) to shine bright. It sips smooth, with huge notes of nectarine and tangerine. Medium hop bitterness balances a hint of sweetness from the malts.

Drowned Lands Sapling

Hazy Pale Ale | 8.6% ABV

Brewed with a blend of Two row, white wheat, and oats then fermented in one of Drowned Lands' temperature controlled Foeders. Delicately hopped with mostly Mosaic in the kettle and dry hop. Notes of mixed berries, fresh squeezed OJ, and a kiss of oak!

Drowned Lands Demure

Foeder Saison | 8.6% ABV

A new foeder-aged saison, a farm hand style beer that is light and complex all at the same time. Sauv Blanc grape juice accompanies this beer during its primary fermentation phase with fresh lemon and raspberry combined after two weeks time in oak. All together Demure has taken over two months to mature before they thought it was perfect and ready to enjoy. The result is a crisp, refreshing and beautifully colored beer, that has notes of ripe grapefruit, bitter blood orange and a sweet raspberry finish. For those who enjoy a dry saison with flavor profile that is ready for spring, this beer is a must try.

Wheatland Spring Alberto 2023

Italian Pilsner | 5.6% ABV

Half of the malted grain in this Pilsner comes from a small farm in New York’s Hudson Valley. The other half comes from grain regeneratively grown at Wheatland Spring next to the brewhouse. Bridging time and distance, this beer unites a first-generation Italian immigrant in New York City a century ago and his grandson in DC today.

Alberto has evolved since Wheatland Spring first released it three years ago. For 2023, they decided to bring it back to the start. It’s a hat tip to the style’s originator, Birrificio Italiano, while holding fast to WS' approach. This batch set out to showcase a full malt body, steadied with balanced bitterness, and accented by a gentle dry hop addition. The result is an approachable, malt-forward Pilsner with a delicate pop of citrus and floral hops. Full-flavored drinkability.

Wheatland Spring Return Piedmont Pilsner

Pilsner | 4.5% ABV

The first three batches of Return are defined by exploration. The folks at Wheatland Spring were working to better understand the relationship between estate barley they grow next to the brewhouse and how best to express its flavor through small batch craft malting. This 4th iteration marks a pivot. From venturing and listening to interpreting and applying. Return B4 begins down the path of dialing in where they understand this beer is destined to arrive.

This batch is a careful blend of custom craft malt roasts. It’s aimed at bringing out a greater depth and broader array of malted barley flavors without overwhelming. For their part, the unique Alsatian hops contribute wafting floral and cedar aromatics on top of a gentle citrus flavor. All with an aim for balance and enjoyment.

Return and its estate beer siblings will remain works in progress across every batch. It’s just how it is working with agricultural products to express a place.

Bingo Beer Grapefruit Zinger

Fruited Sour Ale | 4.2% ABV

Low calorie, low ABV, real fruit & real fun! Zinger is perfect post-race and pre-party. The beer you'll like even if you say you don't like beer.

Bingo Beer Rail Pass

German Pilsner | 5.2% ABV

Rail Pass is back! This seasonal favorite from Bingo is a spicy, floral German-style Pilsner with Tettnang, Saaz, Hallertau, and Spalt Noble Hops.

Casita x Wilmington Go Ask Your Mother

New England IPA | 7.3% ABV

A beer perfect for Father's Day! This collab with Wilmington Brewing Company was brewed with Pale Malt, Flaked Oats, and Flaked Wheat. Hopped with Citra and Nelson Sauvin.

Deciduous Double Created Chaos

Double IPA | 8.5% ABV

Double Dry Hopped Double IPA w/ Idaho Gem, HBC 586 & BRU-1!

Solace Seeing Stars

Double IPA | 10.0% ABV

This big anniversary DIPA is hopped with Galaxy, Falconer’s Flight, and Comet. Prominent aroma and flavors of Pineapple, guava, and passionfruit.
